AUGUST FROGS
At this time of year, there are mostly just my two summer frogs – bullfrogs and green frogs. The other three species are springtime frogs who come to the pond to breed, then go back to the woods. Sometimes I may see their eggs, tadpoles, or young froglets leaving the pond.

PUCKER UP !
This fellow was happy to hang around for a photo-shoot.
Maybe because I smell like pond mud ? Am I starting to look like a frog?

NOSE JOB
Ouch!
Between the tadpoles picking off mosquito larvae hanging from the pond surface, and frog faces serving as flypaper, there isn't much mosquito-on-human action around here. (See the July 30 Frog-of-the-Day for the flypaper effect.)
